By now everyone has heard that Google has taken the wraps off of it's "GBrowser" project and released a public beta of Chrome. I get it now - thanks! Up until now, I was thinking of Chrome as another web browser and I couldn’t see any commanding reason for people to switch from IE or FireFox. This focus on a web application engine makes much more sense. It will still be a challenge to get market share though. One concern is that Google has a tendency to start projects, but never really gets behind them. I’m also wondering if and how they will use this to enhance their core advertising business.
